After eight months of construction, a new location of the El Coral chain was inaugurated this Friday morning, April 8. This new establishment is located in the La Aurora sector, on the Salitre-Daule road, and hundreds of customers arrived early and formed long lines to enter the parking lot.
At the opening ceremony were provincial authorities, mayors and Monsignor Luis Cabrera, Archbishop of Guayaquil, who blessed the establishment before the ribbon cutting, led by Patricio Ortiz, director of Grupo Ortiz (GO) that started in Cuenca.
He said that this location in La Aurora is the number 17 opened nationwide by the GO and that this store provides direct employment to 400 people and indirect employment to 1,500, not to mention those who work for the hundreds of suppliers.

Ortiz announced that in 6 or 8 months they will open another store on the road to the coast and that in Quito they will open two more stores this year and in Ambato there are also other stores about to open their doors.
The Ortiz family says that in the years they have been with their stores they have helped small entrepreneurs to grow.
“The man who made the brooms made 100 a week by hand and now makes 10,000 a week. It is also the case of the lady who makes empanadas and the cookies that we sell; she started making them in the garage of her house, now she has a factory”, expressed the director of the group, who said he was happy for all the work that is being generated through her premises.
He also stressed that in Quito they are setting up a store in the south of the capital, an area considered dangerous in which they recommended not to invest, despite this, he assures that he is setting up a large store that would soon provide employment to many needy families. (I)
