It will stand at 112.12 euros MWh, almost half that of a month ago, but above last year’s price. It will reach its highest price between 8:00 and 9:00.
The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will rise this Tuesday by 8.6% and will be 112.12 euros/megawatt hour (MWh), thus ending six consecutive days of declines.
According to data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE), the average price for tomorrow will be almost half that of a month ago, when it was 221.92 euros/MWh, although it exceeds that marked on the third Tuesday of April last year, when the average price was 34 euros cheaper.
By time bands, electricity will reach its highest price between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., although it will not exceed the barrier of 200 euros/MWh and will remain at 170.91 euros/MWh.
Electricity will have its lowest price this Tuesday between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., when it will be 55.11 euros/MWh.
So far in the month of April, the average price of electricity stands at 197 euros/MWh, which makes it the cheapest month of 2022.
Spain marks for this Tuesday an average daily price in the wholesale market well below that of other large European countries. In the United Kingdom, the price for this Tuesday is 161.40 pounds/MWh (194.69 euros/MWh); in Germany, 209.31 euros/MWh; in France, 217.80 euros, and in Italy, 233.78 euros, while in Portugal, which shares the electricity market with Spain, the price will be the same.
