The accident occurred just after 3:00 p.m. at the Sakana Cooperative Society, dedicated to casting large parts. Yesterday an operator was injured in another accident in this same company and is, according to LAB, the fourth worker who has died in the company since 2015.
A worker of 39 yearsa neighbor of Berriozar, has passed away this afternoon in a labor accident that occurred in the Sakana Cooperative Society on Lakuntza, dedicated to casting large parts, as confirmed to EITB by the Provincial Government.
Apparently, the operator has been hit and has been trapped by a large metal piece that they were handling with a crane. The Etxarri-Aranatz medical team and firefighters from the Alsasua park have gone to the scene, however, despite initially trying to revive the man, he has finally died.
The Foral Police is already in charge of the investigation.
According to sources from the Government of Navarra, yesterday there was another accident in this same company; this time, a 47-year-old operator was trapped by a machine. He was not injured, but he did have difficulty breathing.
LAB has denounced that with today’s, there are already four workers who have died in this company since 2015.
