KFC innovates its product portfolio with a new premium chicken sandwich

Kentucky Chicken Sandwich, a premium type sandwich, is the new product with which KFC hopes to delight Ecuadorians starting this month.

This Premium Extra Crispy Chicken Sandwich is made with 100% extra crisp triple breaded chicken breast, mayonnaise, fresh pickles, on a buttered brioche bun.

The Kentucky Chicken Sandwich will be available alone and in combos nationwide and also for home delivery and on the brand’s mobile app.

KFC, a company with more than 60 years in the world market and since 1975 in Ecuador, expects to present other innovative products this year to please its customers around the world. And at the same time consolidate its presence in the country with new premises.

Alexandra Hernandez, social media manager of the company, He comments that for this year, in addition to the Kentucky Chicken Sandwich, the launch of another special product is planned.

Hernández mentions that KFC is a brand much loved by Ecuadorians and with which they have a commitment, and that thanks to that they were able to continue growing despite the complications that the COVID-19 pandemic brought to the economy.

“We were able to grow a lot in the delivery channel, it was the channel that kept all the stores afloat that we had to close for a long time, but we developed our digital channel through KFC apps that kept us going and now we have a very good market share in that sense and we continue to develop it and move forward with it”, he explains.

The company, which has 147 stores nationwide, plans to continue with its expansion plan to open between three and four more this year.

His plans for this year include continuing to get involved with communities such as the gamerwith which they have developed projects since last year and also continue working on social responsibility projects of which they have been a part for many years.

Hernández comments that among their iconic projects is the one that is part of the Food Bank, and that they are constantly donating products in good condition that do not go on sale, so that they can reach community kitchens where people can access for a Symbolic price.

Other projects in which they participate have to do with health. For the last two years, the company has fully covered a number of surgeries for children suffering from cleft lip and cleft palate at the Children of the Hand of Mary day hospital in Quito.

They are also part of the United for Education initiative, in which they sponsor the construction of rural schools in different areas of the country.

“KFC is a brand that also has a social purpose and that is what we want to focus on and for people to know about these initiatives,” says Hernández. (I)
