Demand for computer supplies grew 25% in the 2022 school campaign

The back to school started strongly, either under the modality face-to-faceblended or fully remote and, in accordance with Free marketthe purchase of computer items for the development of the academic year increased compared to 2021.

Figures from the web platform detail that, throughout the national territory, the demand for products related to back to school was 35% compared to 2021. Of this number, 25% represented the demand for computer products What laptop, monitors, tablets, accessories, etc.; and 22% in the case of technological devices such as smartphones and hearing aids, among others, during the first months of 2022.

Pedro White, general manager of Marketplace in Free Market Peru, expressed that the school campaign is one of the strongest and most relevant of the year. For this reason, they have carried out planning together with their sellers, in order to guarantee the best possible offer and optimal sales conditions for their users.

“Given that little by little we are returning to face-to-face activities in various sectors such as education, we have detected an increase in the demand for products such as supplies, desks, slippers and backpacks that are required for school activities throughout the year.” White said.

Among the best sellers during the Back to School 2022 campaign, the following products stood out:

  • laptop
  • Bluetooth headphones
  • gaming monitors
  • multifunctional printers
  • School shoes.

The products were found within the official brands allied to Mercado Libre such as Lenovo, Apple, Samsung, HP, Asus, Adidas, Bata, Footloose, Porta, Hush Puppies, among others.
