Contract signed to prepare technical file to expand Cajamarca airport

This Thursday October 28 the contract was signed for the elaboration of the technical file of the expansion project of the Mayor General FAP Armando Revoredo Iglesias airport, in order to optimize and improve current operating conditions. The document was signed by Airports of Peru SA, concessionaire of the aforementioned aerodrome and the consortium DOHWA-SEG, which will be in charge of preparing the technical study.

The deadline for the preparation of said file is 360 calendar days and will require an investment of $ 38.62 million (approximately 152.55 million soles). The project seeks to increase and renew current conditions, improving the production capacity, commercial, industrial, tourist and cultural development of the area.

“The technical file of this investment It will contemplate the detailed engineering of the expansion of the passenger terminal in order to increase the flow of the passengers, increase the capacity of aircraft attention during the peak hour of demand, as well as improve the levels of service to users in general and strengthen airport security standards. This will contribute to improving the connectivity of the Cajamarca region for the benefit of the same, promoting both tourism and commerce and business ”, explained the General Manager of Airports of Peru, Evans Avendaño, during a press conference.

In this sense, after completion and approval of the technical study, the hiring process for the physical execution of the work, that will allow the creation of new jobs, both direct and indirect, that will contribute to the impulse and growth of the economy of the Cajamarca region.

Likewise, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) indicated that this project is part of the investments planned in the Master Development Plan, within the framework of the Concession Agreement of the First Group of Airports of the Province of the Republic of Peru.
