As confirmed by the sub-prefect of Baiona, “unfortunately, the tow truck driver has died”. In addition, other people have been in a state of shock after what was seen and the tremor generated by the impact, he added.
The crane was installed yesterday, on four pillars, and apparently one of them has not supported the weight and has given way.
Traffic has been cut off and must remain interrupted between the Pont Charles-Vaillant and the Pont Saint-Esprit until tomorrow, Thursday, to allow the roadway to clear.
