Electricity smashes all records and will reach its all-time high on Tuesday with 544.98 euros/MWh

By time slots, the maximum electricity price for this Tuesday will be between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with 700 euros/MWh, while the minimum, 424.88 euros/MWh, will be recorded between 03:00 and 04:00 hours.

The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will rise this Tuesday 23.15% and will mark his most expensive record in history with €544.98 the megawatt / hour (MWh) to the heat of the rise in the price of natural gas due to the impact of the war in Ukraine.

By time slots, the maximum price of electricity for this Tuesday will be between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.with 700 euros/MWh, while the minimum, of 424.88 euros/MWh, will be registered between 03:00 and 04:00.

The prices of the ‘pool’ have a direct impact on the regulated rate -the so-called PVPC-, to which almost 11 million consumers in the State, and serve as a reference for the other 17 million who have contracted their supply on the free market.

These high levels in the price of electricity occur in the heat of the rise in the price of natural gas as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The increase of gas price It is also being noticed in other European wholesale markets, such as those of Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom, in which today the average exceeds 400 euros/MWh.

Electricity closed 2021 as the most expensive year in the historical series, with an average price of 111.93 euros/MWh. However, so far in 2022 the average price exceeds 220 euros, almost double that of the previous year.
