The port of Bilbao cancels the arrival of a Russian ship transporting gas

It is the first to be suspended after the start of the war against Ukraine and the ship was scheduled to dock next week in Bilbao.

The port of Bilbao has ship arrival canceled from Russia carrying gas. This is the first to be suspended after the start of the war against Ukraine. As explained by the port authorities to Radio Euskadithe ship has been replaced by another with US gas.

This Wednesday the first Russian ship set sail for the Spanish State. It’s about the ship Nikolay Urvantsev of 172,410 cubic meters, which was loaded at the Yamal LNG station on the 28th and was expected to arrive at the Bilbao terminal on the 12th.

Since the member states announced last week the closure of the airspace, the Spanish government has proposed to its partners to make this same decision and also close the maritime space.

However, the European sanctions on the Kremlin for the moment do not want to enter into energy matters, since Russia is the main supplier of gas from the European Union.
