Francke: “The tax reform proposal that we are taking to Congress is fundamental”

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro FranckeHe argued that the delegation of powers in economic matters, which the Executive is requesting from the Congress of the Republic, is “fundamental” for policies of inclusion and reactivation of Peruvian families hit by the pandemic.

During his presentation at the IX Social Inclusion Week, organized by the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Between), Francke Ballvé said that another of the Pedro Castillo government’s priorities will be to collect the large debts that companies and transnationals have with the Treasury or stuck in the Judiciary.

“Our priority is [plantear] how we collect debts from large companies, and How do we carry out a tax reform that allows with social and tax justice to recover or obtain greater income for the State, in order to provide sustainable financing for all issues of inclusion and social protection ”, stressed Francke.

In this sense, the head of the MEF stressed that a new approach to guarantee the public spending It will be key to initiate policies for economic growth, agricultural industrialization, job recovery, loans to small producers and better social programs, among others.

“All this, to be sustainable, requires sustainable income from the State, and that is why the tax reform proposal that we are carrying out as a delegation of powers to the Congress of the Republic, which we hope will allow us to make a leap in our spending on health and social protection ”, he indicated.

As recalled, the president of the Council of Ministers, Mirtha Vasquez, on Monday addressed a speech for almost two hours before Parliament, in which he gave an account of the general policies of his administration in search of the vote of confidence.

Mirtha Vásquez divided her speech into ten topics: basic rights, economic reactivation, digital technology, government decentralization, fight against corruption, action against climate change, among others.
