Labor Commission approves declaring the increase in ONP pensions of public necessity

The Labor Commission of the Congress of the Republic unanimously approved the prediction that declares of public necessity and national interest the progressive increase in the minimum retirement pension of pensioners of the Pension Normalization Office (ONP) until reaching a minimum vital remuneration, which is currently at S/ 930.

Thus, Congress urges the Executive Power to specify the progressive increase for pensions of the regime of DL 19990 and 20530.

“As of 2021, the minimum pension (S/ 500) is practically half of the minimum vital remuneration (S/ 930), a situation that is quite eloquent of the perversity with which the ONP pensioner is treated and its immediate readjustment is sufficiently justified. so that it is progressively placed in an amount similar to the minimum vital remuneration”, it is indicated in the support of the opinion.

If the legislative initiative is approved, the ONP will have a non-extendable term of up to 120 calendar days to carry out the projection of the calculation of periodic increases of the minimum retirement pension until reaching the equivalent of an RMV in the period of three years.

In addition, you must have the actuarial calculation to determine the percentage of complementary contributions to be paid by employers and/or the public treasury.

It should be remembered that the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) is preparing a proposal on the increase in ONP pensions, a measure that is part of Agenda 19.
