The unions describe the strike as “historic”, while Osakidetza figures the follow-up at 9.14%

According to union sources, in some services the strike has been 100%, and operating theaters such as those in Txagorritxu and Zumarraga have been closed. Satse, ELA, LAB, CC. OO. and UGT have denounced that the Osakidetza management has ordered that the unemployment data not be provided to the unions.

The unions have described “historical” tracking the strike day convened this Monday in Osakidetza, although they have not provided specific figures on the percentage of workers who support the strike.

After holding demonstrations in the three capitals of the Basque Autonomous Community, the unions Satse, ELA, LAB, CC. OO. and UGT have denounced that the Osakidetza management has expressly ordered the service organizations to data is not provided of the strike to the unions, in “an exercise of little transparency”.

According to the unions, the strike has been 100% at Basurto Hospital in services such as Pathological Anatomy, the “topera” of guards and traumatology consultations; at Cruces Hospital in the Emergency Room and in the traumatology operating room; at Galdakao Hospital between physiotherapists and kitchen service, internal medicine of the Zumarraga Hospital; and they have closed operating rooms like those of Txagorritxu and Zumarraga.

The follow-up to the strike has also been important in the Primary Carewith centers that have remained closed, without attention to the public, as is the case of Arangoiti, San Adrian and Bolueta or Gernika-Lumo.

“Many hospital services have 100% follow-up, many health centers they are closedand that has to make Osakidetza reconsider”, commented Arkaitz Herreros (ELA), in the concentration of the Basurto hospital.

“Follow-up is being very important. We are at the end of a historic phase of strikes at Osakidetza, because the staff is saying loud and clear to the management that she’s fed upthat situation is seriouscomes from afar and needs urgent solutions already”.

For this reason, they have demanded that the Minister of Health “change dynamics, that the sector table be a negotiator, in which the problems of the workforce are addressed” and that the proposals be in writing.
