The Minister of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources, Juan Carlos Bermeo Calderón, will fulfill a work agenda in Houston-United States between this Monday 21 and Thursday 24 February, where It will present to businessmen and investors from abroad the catalog of Ecuador’s investment projects in the energy and hydrocarbon sector.
The minister will hold high-level meetings with representatives of different companies of the industry of oil&gas and energy. Among the projects that will be promoted abroad are the Non-Conventional Renewable Energies Block (500 MW), the Natural Gas Combined Cycle Block (400 MW) and the Northeast Transmission System. In these last two, the term for the delivery of samples of interest for national and foreign companies was extended. interested in investing in the country.
Minister Bermeo had explained a few days ago to this newspaper that there are some 200 interested companies, of which 19 have already bought the bases. However, that State portfolio decided to increase the deadline for the delivery of offers, since there were inquiries from several companies on the subject.
Regarding the hydrocarbons sector, Minister Bermeo Calderón will announce the details of the upcoming tenders, such as the Intracampos II round, the Esmeraldas refinery, the Sacha block and the round offshore (Amistad field), which together seek to attract investments of more than $8,000 million.
Representatives from prestigious companies, such as Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, Baker Institute, Cross-National Advisory Partners, Gf international, GIGO Transport, Inc., Trina Solar, among others.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the main authority of that portfolio will maintain meeting spaces with the media and different business roundtables, where the advantages of Ecuador’s competitiveness for investment will be announced.
The Ministry of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources said that the idea is to work to promote new private investment that generates more resources, employment and opportunities.
