MEF approves debt for 50 million euros with German national bank KfW

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) approved the foreign borrowing operation with the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau – KfW up to 50 million euros, destined to partially finance the Investment Program “Improvement and expansion of the public cleaning service in the provinces of Arequipa, Coronel Portillo and Tacna”in charge of the Ministry of the Environment.

through the Supreme Decree No. 019-2022-EF, the MEF provides that the cancellation of the aforementioned foreign borrowing operation is through 21 semi-annual installments, consecutive and, as far as possible, equal, plus a grace period of five years. The borrowing operation will accrue a six-month variable interest rate plus a margin to be determined by KfW, in accordance with its interest rate policies.

The aforementioned external indebtedness is subject to a commitment fee of 0.25% per annum, on undisbursed loan amounts. As well as a single global administration commission of 1%, on the amount of the loan, for a single time.

“The Minister of Economy and Finance, or whomever he designates, be authorized to sign, on behalf of the Republic of Peru, the loan contract for the foreign indebtedness operation approved in article 1 of this Supreme Decree; as well as the General Director of the General Directorate of the Public Treasury of the Ministry of Economy and Finance to sign the documents required to implement the aforementioned operation”, the document refers.

It should be noted that the service of amortization, interest, commissions and other expenses caused by the external indebtedness operation that is approved by article 1 of this Supreme Decree is attended by the Ministry of Economy and Finance charged to the budgetary resources assigned to the payment. of public debt service.

The document has the signature of President Pedro Castillo; the president of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres; the head of Economy and Finance, Oscar Graham; and the Minister of the Environment, Modesto Montoya.
