The head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Oscar Graham, announced that today the Council of Ministers approved a legislative decree that modifies the tax code to reduce tax avoidance and evasion. This, within the framework of the powers delegated by the Congress of the republic.

As explained by the head of the MEF, this change seeks to generate greater collection and achieve fairer taxation.

Likewise, the official informed that a legislative decree was approved that makes modifications in the public accounting system, adapting international norms and framed to the standards of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which will be done in a gradual.

“It’s going to allow for much more transparent cost-based accounting,” Graham added at a news conference.

The third legislative decree approved in Minister council is the modification to the RUC law.

“What we intend with this is to make the use of the RUC much more transparent, which will imply that when a product is offered through social networks, the RUC must be used as a reference,” explained Graham.
