Oil production in January this year was 42,525 barrels per day (BPD), which meant an increase of 22% compared to the same month last year, according to the Peruvian Hydrocarbons Society (SPH).
Among those with the highest production, Block 95 stood out with 13,875 barrels, Block X in Piura with 12,025 BPD and Block Z-2B with 5,560 barrels.
On the other hand, the lots that did not register production in that period were lot 192, Z-1, Z-6, 67 and lot 8.
The SPH indicated that oil production in January this year was higher than that recorded the previous month.
Meanwhile, the production of liquid hydrocarbons had a slight increase in January 2022, reaching 128,239 MBPD (thousands of barrels per day). This is an increase of 7% compared to the same month last year.
Regarding the production of natural gas liquids, the SPH reported that there was an increase from 84,106 (MBPD) in December 2021 to 85,714 (MBPD) in January 2022.
The companies that reported the highest production growth were Pluspetrol with 70,641 (MBPD), followed by Repsol with 14,087 (MBPD), he noted.
Natural gas
Natural gas production had a slight decrease, going from 1,366 (MCFD) in December 2021 to 1,356 (MCFD) in January 2022.
This month’s figure is 17% higher than that of the same month of the previous year (in natural gas production).
The batches that reported the highest production growth were batch 88 with 649,771 (MCFD) followed by batch 56 with 449,951 (MCFD).
