The North American currency opened with a price of S/ 3.7752, as reported by the Bloomberg website. Meanwhile, on Friday, February 11, the greenback closed with a value of S / 3,776, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

In this sense, the aforementioned monetary authority reported that the trade balance surplus corresponding to 2021 reached US$14,752 million in that year. This result is due to the fact that in that period of time, exports managed to recover and exceed pre-pandemic levels. In this way, exports in 2021 accumulated US$63,106 million, that is, 47.1% more compared to 2020 and 31.5% more compared to 2019, before the health crisis arrived.

On the other hand, food exports to the Asian market in the traditional agricultural, agricultural-agroindustrial and non-traditional fishing sectors accumulated a total of US$1,572 million in 2021. This amount represents an increase of 31.5% compared to 2020 ( US$ 1,195 million), as announced by the Association of Exporters (ADEX).

The product most demanded by that continent was fresh grapes (US$ 248,457,000), followed by frozen squid and squid, as well as blueberries. Along these lines, the prepared or preserved squid and squid also stood out; avocado; prawns; livers, roe and milk; cocoa beans; coffee and fresh seaweed.
