Aníbal Torres, president of the Council of Ministers, pointed out last Friday that some companies are not complying with paying their debt after receiving the injection of liquidity through the program Reactive Peru.
“The Reactiva program (Peru), and all Peruvians know how it was granted and to whom it benefited. Many of them are not paying. Many companies and large companies are not paying. That’s what we know.” told RPP.
In this sense, it is worth specifying that, as of July 2021, according to Equifax data, the rescheduled credits of Reactive Peru with late payments rose from 3.5% in January to 7.8% in July.
However, the firm argued that despite the rebound in non-performing loans, it remains low, which explains why the companies are fulfilling their obligations.
It is important to mention that, until December 31, 2021, companies could reschedule their loans granted by the Reactiva Peru program, of which, according to data from Cofide, some 160,560 companies deferred their payments.
These 160,560 companies represent 33% of the total number of companies that have benefited through the state-guaranteed credit program, which exceed 400,000.
