They will analyze and discuss the “technical differences” between the two executives with the aim of closing a definitive agreement and starting work on the economic valuation of the competition.
The technical paper made up of representatives of the governments of Spain and the Basque Country meets this coming Wednesday to “fil out” the pending issues that allow the full transfer to the Basque Country of the Minimum Vital Income.
The Minister of Public Governance, Olatz Garamendi, announced this meeting in her speech at the plenary session of the Basque Parliament, in response to a question asked by the representative of EH Bildu, Nerea Kortajarena.
Kortajarena has warned that the transfer cannot remain “mere management” because it would mean “going back in self-government”, while insisting that this competition is a “window of opportunity” for the Basque protection system.
Garamendi has reiterated that the Basque Government “is not going to allow any transfer by halves”, after assuring that at this time “the agreement is closer to the characteristics that this transfer must have”, although he has acknowledged that there are still “aspects that shield”. “We’re on it,” he said.
In this sense, he has advanced that next Wednesday the technical paper that addresses this transfer will meet. This is a bilateral forum in which the “technical differences” between the two executives will be analyzed and discussed with the aim of closing a definitive agreement and for work to begin on the economic valuation of the competition.
Garamendi, who has hoped that this meeting will contribute to the closing of a definitive agreement whose achievement “is taking too long”, has emphasized that he will maintain a “demanding” attitude so that the IMV reaches Euskadi in full and with financing based on the quota system.
