Gustavo Guerra García resigned from the Vice Ministry of Finance of the MEF

Six months after his appointment, Gustavo Guerra García Picasso submitted his resignation from his position as deputy minister of finance in the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Supreme Resolution No. 002-2022-EF states that Guerra García submitted his resignation for which “it is necessary to accept it” and is signed by the new head of the portfolio, Oscar Graham. It will be remembered that García assumed the position summoned by Pedro Francke and accompanied him in the preparation and support of the 2022 Budget.

In addition, last October he was part of the technical team that accompanied the former premier, Mirtha Vásquez, in the dialogues with the communities of the mining corridor in Cotabambas, Apurímac, due to the conflict they maintain with the mining company MMG Las Bambas.

The economist studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and has more than 20 years of experience in public management. In addition, he has a master’s degree from Georgetown University.

Previously, he was coordinator of the program to improve the public investment mechanism that gave rise to the National Public Investment System (SNIP) for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) project.
