Fonafe presents its Corporate Strategic Plan for the period 2022-2026

The pillars of the new Corporate Strategic Plan for the period 2022-2026approved by the Board of Directors of Fonafe last December, rest on five axes referring to the management of goods and services that contribute to closing gaps in quality and coverage for the economic, social and environmental development of the country.

As usual, every five years, Fonafe prepares its Corporate Strategic Plan – PEC, marking the route that will guide the activities of the Corporation during said period. The preparation of this document is carried out within the framework of the Regulation of DL No. 1031, which promotes efficiency in the State’s business activity.

The five strategic axes that support the current developed strategy are:

  • Creation of economic, social and environmental value.
  • Quality of goods and services.
  • Optimize administrative management and control.
  • Give impetus to business development.
  • Development of internal capacities.

Lorena Masias, executive director of Fonafe, points out that the PEC to 2026 is an example of the planning and vision that the Corporation of public companies has, and that it is sought -over time- that public companies are an international benchmark.

“We have prepared the Corporate Strategic Plan for the period 2022-2026, developing a strategy that marks a route towards achieving our long-term vision, promoting the development of the companies that are part of the Corporation, with the clear objective of achieving closing gaps in terms of quality and coverage, generating trust in citizens and seeking to make public companies a benchmark at an international level”, emphasizes Masias Quiroga.

He explains that, as part of the development of said plan, three critical factors were identified that will be worked on so that the proposed strategy has the expected success.

“It is about strengthening the corporate governance of companies, improving the management of investments and their financing, and improving the regulatory context so that public companies can fulfill their mission. These three factors require articulation with other State actors, so we are going to focus our efforts on it”, details the Executive Director.
