To which the Executive Branch observed, sustaining that in practice it would not be possible for suppliers (mostly MSMEs) to comply, since not all the cases they receive have the same level of complexity; In this sense, the Executive, through Indecopi, proposed a new deadline, considering the experience of other countries such as Mexico, Colombia and Uruguay that share the same legal tradition (attention to claims in 15 days).
“We are grateful that there was consensus on the observations raised by the Executive Power. We continue to fight and we are in the same line to reduce the term of attention of the claims, which will directly impact the citizenry, it is a great step in the defense of the rights of the consumer”, said the president of Indecopi, Julián Palacín before Codeco.
The search ruling will be debated in plenary, and if approved, this Law will take effect after 60 calendar days counted from the day following its publication in the official newspaper El Peruano.
