The unions denounce that the minimum services of 100% prevent quantifying the follow-up of the strike

Union sources have coincided in denouncing that the 100% minimum services “violate the right to strike of residence workers” since they will only be able to support the strike, or attend the concentrations, “those people who today did not have to to work”.

Unions represented in Biscay residences have denounced that the “abusive” minimum services of 100% imposed by the Basque Government make it “impossible” to quantify the monitoring of the strike day convened this Tuesday in the sector, in addition to assuming a violation of the right to exercise it of these workers.

The 5,000 women workers employed in Bizkaia in private and concerted residences are called to support a day of unemployment which they call ELA, LAB, CC. OO. and UGT, but which has three callsin defense of an improvement in their working conditions and current ratios, all of them in Bilbao.

On the one hand, ELA has called a demonstration from the Arriaga theater to the Bizkaia Provincial Council. On the other hand, LAB, which in turn is concentrated in front of the Biscay General Assembly headquarters, while CC. OO. and UGT, jointly, call for concentration before the Department of Social Action of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia.

The workers demand a improvement of their working conditions before “the blockade” in the renewal of the agreement for these 5,000 employees, who have accumulated years of work “under minimum” and fatigue throughout the pandemic, “not only physical but also mental and emotional that nobody puts on the table”.

Union sources have coincided in denouncing that the minimum services of 100%, “violate the right to strike of these workers” since they are only going to be able to support the strike, or go to the concentrations, “those people who did not have to work today, because those who have it and it corresponds to them in turn, will not be able to exercise their right like the rest of workers” have criticized.

Likewise, they have denounced that these minimum services affect “practically all profiles, from direct care, to cleaning or administrative assistants.”
