Gasnorp, responsible for the distribution of natural gas in the Piura region, reported that, like the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem), appealed the sentence –in first instance– issued by the Permanent Civil Court of Talara, which declared the claims of the company to be partially founded. Gastalsaa company whose concession contract was declared expired as it was proven that it did not comply with its obligations for more than a decade.
:
Despite this resolution, Gasnorp indicated that it maintains its commitment and will continue with the massification of natural gas for the Piura region, where it has invested more than US$ 100 million. which has allowed it to move forward with distribution and benefit 16,000 people who have this public service in Piura, Talara and Sullana and, soon, in Paita and Sechura.
:
Likewise, he warned that there is a threat from the Gastalsa company, which, putting its private interests first and without meeting the requirements of the law, requests a precautionary measure. “Which would generate the paralysis of all the massification of natural gas in the Piura region, denying the possibility of having the public service to more than 64,000 families, who would not be able to access an economical, safe and clean fuel for their homes”, Gasnorp warned.
