This Thursday, the head of the PCM, Hector Valerannounced that it will seek to repeal the resolution of the Ministry of the Environment that orders the stoppage of Repsol’s operations at the La Pampilla refinery after the oil spill in Ventanilla.
“We are starting the shortage of fuel since yesterday because La Pampilla is not working due to a resolution that we have to repeal,” he told the press.
Valer’s statements contradict the Ministry of Energy and Mines, which yesterday denied these versions and assured that there is no risk of fuel shortages.
During his presentation before the Energy and Mines Commission of Congress, the deputy minister in charge of Hydrocarbons, Jorge Chavez Crestapointed out, however, that logistics problems could arise because the company supplies 40% of the market.
“According to reports from Repsol and Osinergmin, there is no threat of fuel shortages. But it is a situation, with the passing of days and if the company does not solve the requirements of OEFAIt could happen,” he said.
