Dollar closes higher and is trading at S / 3,968 after disagreements between the Executive and Congress

The dollar closed the penultimate week of October higher and was quoted at S / 3,968, after starting the day at S / 3,9605, reported the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

During the morning, the issuing entity placed exchange swaps for S / 740 million, one-week deposit auctions for S / 1,500 million, and auction of overnight deposits for S / 12,251.1 million. In the afternoon, it sold US $ 47 million at an average exchange rate of S / 3.9680 per dollar to attenuate its volatility.

This represents an appreciation of 0.19% of the dollar over the close of the previous day. The BCRP accumulates cash sales of US $ 9,776 million so far in 2021.

Thus, the currency shows an increase in its price compared to the close of last Thursday, October 21, when it stood at S / 3.9520. The purchase in the parallel market was located at S / 3.95 and the sale at S / 3.98 Regarding the price of the interbank dollar, it is located at the purchase S / 3.997 and the sale at S / 4.003.

This occurs after the Executive submitted to the Constitutional Court the claim of unconstitutionality against the law of authentic interpretation on the question of trust that was approved in Congress. In this way, through the public prosecutor Luis Alberto Huerta Guerrero, it was requested that the legal recourse be admitted so that the TC can proceed with its evaluation.
