In Ecuador, the band system had been in force since May 2020 and was tied to the international price of crude. Due to the global increase, each month it was increasing a few cents.
Meanwhile, President Lasso recalled that since May 24, when he assumed responsibility for leading the country’s progress, he promised to vaccinate 9 million Ecuadorians in 100 days, and he fulfilled it. He also said that it has been possible to create 200,000 suitable jobs in sectors such as commerce, manufacturing, food service, among others. But he explained that now it is his turn to continue with measures both in security and in the economy.
Refering to security, said that since it is public, the state of exception has been decreed as part of the National Security Plan, to restore peace in the streets. (I)
