The management of Volkswagen Navarra, UGT and CCOO agree on a new ERTE until June

The ERTE will be in force for the first half of 2022, from February 3 to June 30. In the event that some of the causes indicated in the agreement persist beyond the second semester, “an extension” will be made.

The address of Volkswagen Navarra and the union majority formed by UGT and CCOO have signed an agreement this morning for a ERTE (Temporary Employment Regulation File) during the first semester of 2022, from February 3 to June 30, for productive reasons mainly due to the conditions derived from the crisis in the supply of semiconductors.

Volkswagen points out in a statement that the lack of microchips has altered the productive pace of the landaben plant and adds that it will continue with “a reactive management model that has managed to suffocate the problems of each moment, through the application of formulas agreed by both parties, which have minimized the effects of component shortages.”

The agreement is made with the priority objective of producing the vehicles assigned in the annual program, “taking into account that the current circumstances do not allow us to foresee immediately the solution of the supply problems generated by the pandemic crisis to mitigate the consequent days of closure”.

With this ERTE, the company and the union majority consider that it is avoided slow down production current each day and “the need is concentrated not to produce in full days or shifts”, so that it will be allowed to maintain employment as established by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The conditions of this new ERTE will be the same as those agreed in the regulatory file of August 29, 2018.

As the last point of the agreement of this ERTE, it is established that, in the event that some of the causes indicated in the first point of the agreement persist beyond the second semester, “an extension will be made” of the same.
