Amazonas: MVCS launches “Itinerant Housing” to carry out 100 sectoral projects

The head of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS), Geiner Alvarado López, announced the arrival in the Amazon region of “Itinerant Housing”, a sectoral strategy that places its professional teams at the disposal of municipal governments, in order to carry out sanitation and neighborhood improvement projects.

“These works are part of a program that we have generated called Itinerant Housing, through which we are going to see 100 projects for the Amazon region. We are talking about approximately S/ 747 million”, explained the minister to the local media.

According to the official, through “Itinerant Housing”, the technical groups of the MVCS programs will provide technical assistance for a week to the mayors and authorities of the different municipalities of the region, on their water, sanitation, living place and urbanism that need to be executed and financed by the sector.

This announcement was made during the meeting that Minister Alvarado held with the regional governor of Amazonas, Óscar Altamirano, and the provincial and district mayors of the provinces of Chachapoyas and Bongará.

It should be noted that this 2022 the Amazonas region has an assigned budget of S/ 111 million 700,000 for the execution of water, sanitation, housing and neighborhood improvement works, which will be in charge of the three levels of government.
