The Peruvian economy would have a growth of between 3.5% and 4% in 2022, predicts the MEF

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Peru during 2022 would have a growth of between 3.5% and 4%, according to the latest projections of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

“It is less as a percentage than our previous rate, but it implies a GDP level that far exceeds the level we had previously programmed by about 2 points,” explained the head of the MEF, Pedro Francke.

The official pointed out that one of the goals of the MEF will be to break the public investment record, as well as to promote new engines of growth and private investment.

Fracke Ballve explained that this rapid recovery has been taking place despite the fact that some sectors continue to be hit by the pandemic, however, Sectors such as construction, industry and agriculture have registered a strong performance in 2021.

In this way, according to MEF forecasts, Peru would be leading economic growth in Latin America in the coming years, with a GDP expansion of 3.4% between 2022 and 2025.
