This Thursday, the president of the Council of Ministers, Mirtha Vasquez, informed that the agreements reached with the affected population after the oil spill in Ventanilla caused by Repsol will not be considered compensation.
“Regardless of whether the company reaches agreements with the population, I want to make it clear that any type of requirement that the population makes or that the company delivers is not part of any compensation or reparation,” the premier noted.
Likewise, he stated that they will maintain a vigilant attitude before the incorporation of artisanal fishermen to clean up the damaged area.
“We have asked that if they are going to agree to give a labor exchange, that is, if they are going to hire fishermen and people from the area, they cannot hire them in activities that imply some risk. They cannot hire them in activities for which they are not prepared because that could generate greater exposure“, he pointed.
