Hydrocarbon companies paid more than 749 million dollars as royalties until September

The National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy (SNMPE) reported that companies in the hydrocarbons sector paid the Peruvian State a total of 749 million 800 thousand dollars in royalties from January to September of this year.

The energy mining union specified that this figure represented an increase of 130% compared to the 325 million 600 thousand dollars that the oil companies paid for royalties in the period from January to September 2020.

The companies that operate in the national hydrocarbon industry – he detailed – paid 130 million 900 thousand dollars for royalties in September 2021, which meant an increase of 196.5% compared to the same month of 2020 (44 million 100 thousand dollars).

Likewise, the entity indicated that the royalties of last September (130 million 900 thousand dollars) were also higher than those reported in the same month of the year 2019 (62 million 500 thousand dollars).

The mining-energy union explained that, in September of this year, companies in the hydrocarbon sector paid for royalties 63 million 200 thousand dollars for the exploitation of natural gas and 15 million 800 thousand dollars for oil, as well as 51 million 900 thousand dollars for the production of natural gas liquids.

Finally, the SNMPE He commented that, at the end of the third quarter of this year, the increase in royalties was favored by the increase in international prices of oil and natural gas, as well as by the reactivation of the world and national economy.
