The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) announced the call for this year of the tender to execute the water and sanitation projects PTAP Curumuy and AA. H H. Piura, in the region of the same name.
The Vice Minister of Construction and Sanitation, Javier Hernández, assured that both projects will benefit more than 500,000 inhabitants of the Piura region.
“The PTAP Curumuy file is already completed and ready to be executed. In the case of AA. H H. Piura, the file is 75% complete, and we must finish it in the next three or four months. We hope towards the second quarter of this year to be able to make the call”, said the deputy minister.
In the breakdown, PTAP Curumuy has an investment amount of S/ 280 million, and will quadruple the availability of drinking water in the city of Piura, going from 600 to 2,500 liters per second.
Meanwhile, AA. H H. Piura has an investment amount of S/ 480 million and consists of the expansion and improvement of the drinking water and sewage system in 96 human settlements in the districts of Piura and Castilla.
“Both PTAP Curumuy and AA. H H. Piura are long-range projects, whose benefits will be seen in 2023. The first will require about 24 months of execution and the second of them about 18 months, “said the deputy minister.
Morropon, Huancabamba and Ayabaca
By 2022, Vice Minister Hernández indicated that the MVCS plans to additionally execute six projects in the Piura region for an estimated investment of S/ 39 million, of which three are in the process of being called and will benefit the provinces of Morropón. , Huancabamba and Ayabaca.
Of the three remaining projects, two correspond to Piura and one to Huancabamba, which would be called between February and March of this year.
During 2021, 99 water and sanitation works were completed, which involved an investment of S/ 393 million. Of this group of projects, 35 were concluded between August and December, in the government of President Pedro Castillo and the management of the Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, Geiner Alvarado.
