Foreign Trade Single Window generated savings of more than S/ 148 million

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported that, during 2021, the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), generated more than S/ 148 million in savings for exporters, importers and international trade operators, by avoiding the use of resources, travel and management time.

This important saving for the sector was produced thanks to the procedures which houses the VUCE in its three components: Restricted Goods, which facilitated savings of S/ 88,200,000; Origin, with a conservation of S/ 51 million 600,000; and Port, with a benefit of S/ 8 million 800,000.

As recalled, the VUCE is an electronic platform that facilitates foreign trade paperwork and procedures, and connects different entities for the exchange of information. Currently, it hosts 317 procedures from 16 entities in its Restricted Goods Component; 21 certifying entities in their Origin Component; and 21 procedures of 5 entities in its Port Component.

In 2021, 215,786 certificates of origin and 42,064 affidavits were issued through the Origin Component. In the case of the Port Component, 21,685 ship reception procedures and 22,510 ship dispatch procedures were recorded. On the other hand, through the new Management System for Special Economic Zones, more than 450 procedures were generated from Zofratacna users.

The Mincetur revealed that, in order to continue strengthening the competitiveness of Peruvian foreign trade, the VUCE 2.0 Project is being implemented: Improvement of foreign trade facilitation services through the VUCE. With its advances, competitive operating costs would be obtained with systematized, updated and intelligent information.
