PSN, Geroa Bai and Podemos propose a Housing Law in Navarra, against speculation

It includes measures against speculation such as the indefinite classification of protected housing, the creation of the registry of lease contracts or a Rent Sustainability Index (ISA).

The PSN, Geroa Bai and Podemos Ahal Dugu have presented a proposal for Housing Law that includes measures against speculation such as the indefinite classification of protected housing, the creation of the registry of lease contracts or a Rent Sustainability Index (ISA).

The bill was presented at a press conference by the Regional Minister for Territorial Planning, Housing, Landscape and Strategic Projects, Jose Maria Aierdi, and spokespersons for the three political forces that present it: Arantza Biurrun (PSN), Ana Ansa (Geroa Bai) and Mikel Buil (Podemos Ahal Dugu).

As reported by the counselor, the text includes the indefinite qualification of protected housing in those lands destined for official protection housing as a measure to “respond to that business process that was carried out with protected housing” and that has led Navarra to go from 58,000 homes with this classification to less than 28,000 current.

It also establishes the creation of the registry of lease agreements which will make it possible to determine the tense rental areas at the time these are specified within the new state regulations, currently paralyzed by the General Council of the Judiciary.

In addition, the ISA will be created, which will define the appropriate price of a home in order to establish measures in these areas aimed at “sufficient prices and affordability”, explained Aierdi.
