The Legislative Administration Council (CAL) resolved that legislative officials report positive cases of COVID-19 themselves and their relatives.
The Council of Legislative Administration (CAL) resolved this afternoon that the Assembly will continue to telecommute between January 17 and 24, in order to avoid COVID-19 infections. With the presence of the assembly coordinators of the benches, this decision was made unanimously, “in order to continue to protect the health of assembly members and legislative servants”.
In addition, the CAL reported that legislative servants must report positive results of COVID-19 to the email Seguridad.higiene@asambleanacional.gob.ec, as well as those who have relatives with positive pictures in their residences.
The CAL also indicated that it will meet again next January 23 with the purpose of evaluating the situation for the progressive return to face-to-face activities of the legislative body.
The Assembly has been teleworking since January 9 and was scheduled to return to face-to-face work on January 17. However, the increase in infections has made the CAL decide to extend the measure.
According to the COE, infections in the second week of January have grown by more than 300%, reaching 42,000 in one week.
