Ministry of Labor: these were the most demanded occupations in 2021

The Socio-Economic Labor Research Directorate (Disel) of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) reported that during September 2021 a total of 3 million 674,618 workers were registered nationwide.

Of the total, the largest number of hires occurred in occupations of agriculture, forestry and fishing with 394,881 workers, which is equivalent to 11% of employees registered in the Electronic Form.

They are followed by the heads of administrative offices (238,115), administrative staff and related employees (213,058), administrative service agents (183,701) and domestic staff, cleaners, laundresses and ironers (167,252).

Recruitment by region

By region, the study shows that in Lima and Callao the demand for workers predominates in occupations such as administrative staff and employees (161,051), heads of administrative offices (153,645) and administrative service agents (123,409).

While in other departments of Peru, greater hiring was registered in agricultural, forestry and fishing (349,299), followed by heads of administrative dependencies (84,470) and mining, electricity, gas and water supply workers (72,376).

Positions with better salaries

According to the MTPE study, the average monthly remuneration was S/ 2,451 in jobs in private formal sector companies. The highest incomes were received in positions such as company directors (S/ 6,710), professionals in the physical, chemical and mathematical sciences (S/ 6,014).

The list also includes professionals in mathematical sciences and engineering (S/ 5,031), managers of small businesses (S/ 3,854) and technicians in maritime and aeronautical navigation (S/ 3,700), among others.
