Dominican singer Eudis "El Invencible" will attempt to sing bachata non-stop for 12 consecutive hours during a live YouTube broadcast.
The online event is scheduled to start on Thursday, August 27 at 6:00 p.m. and run until 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning.
The marathon performance will feature live musicians and a repertoire spanning his own songs, traditional bachata classics, and previously unreleased tracks. Production for the show is handled by Lider Productions and Punto Music.
The broadcast will include real-time interaction with online viewers as the artist performs throughout the night. Eudis described the event as a personal test and a way to demonstrate that bachata does not sleep.
Organizers have framed the initiative as an artistic challenge rather than an officially certified attempt to set a world record.
A routine of high endurance
The singer has built a reputation for physical endurance on stage. He told Diario Libre that he typically completes between 25 and 40 live performances every month.
In December 2025, he set a personal record by completing 73 stage appearances in a single month. The upcoming digital stream is designed to bring that same physical stamina to an online audience.
Bachata is a genre of Latin music that originated in the Dominican Republic, characterized by guitar instrumentation and romantic themes. Eudis has spent approximately 20 years building his career within the genre.
From military service to viral fame
Born in Elias Pina, a province in the western Dominican Republic, the singer whose full name is Eudis Alcantara Valdez moved to the capital city of Santo Domingo at the age of 17 to join the Army of the Dominican Republic.
He enlisted as a line soldier rather than a musician, later beginning to perform at military events and gatherings.
For years he balanced two occupations, carrying out his military responsibilities during the day before singing bachata at night in local car washes, colmadones, and small commercial venues.
He formally joined a music group in 2006 and launched his solo project two years later in 2008. He began gaining wider attention across the Dominican music circuit in 2014 following the release of his popular track El que no bebe.
Social media and awards success
Eudis expanded his audience by transforming his live shows into high-energy spectacles. On stage he sings, dances, mixes with the crowd, and performs theatrical routines, maintaining a clear separation between his stage persona and his private life.
That stage style gained new reach on social media. His song Tik Tok, written by David Paredes, went viral shortly after its release and earned him his first nomination at the Premios Soberano 2026.
He was nominated in the Bachata of the Year category alongside industry figures Anthony Santos, Frank Reyes, Zacarias Ferreira, and Ronald Nunez. The award was ultimately won by Frank Reyes for the song Quien te dio el derecho.
Eudis has continued an active recording schedule in 2026, releasing new tracks including Me tiene chivo, Un punto de vista, and En el cielo no hay banco. His most streamed catalog songs include Quien pierde mas, La quiero loca, and Tik Tok.
