Postpaid mobile portability set a historical annual record with 3.3 million portings completed in all of 2021, the highest number in the last seven years.

Precisely, in the last month of last year, 342,718 postpaid mobile lines changed their operator, for which a new monthly maximum was reported in the history of mobile portability, much higher, inclusive, than seen in the months prior to the pandemic. .

On the other hand, mobile portability of prepaid lines reported 2.2 million lines, equivalent to 39.5% of the total ported in 2021, with results above those registered in 2020.

Companies with the best net results in the year

The operating companies that obtained positive net results (that is, the difference between lines won and lost) during 2021 were Claro with 401,097; Entel with 66,875; and Guinea Mobile with 8,934.

Meanwhile, the operators Bitel, Movistar and Flash obtained a negative balance of 322,450, 147,571 and 6,885 lost net lines, each, respectively.

More than 35,000 fixed lines changed operators in 2021

Fixed line portability also returned to pre-pandemic levels. During 2021, some 35,175 fixed telephone lines changed their operating company, a figure higher by 40.4% compared to the portations registered in 2020 and even 11.9% compared to 2019.

During the 12 months of the past year, Clear, Optical Networks Y Century Link (Lumen) achieved a positive net balance of 9,437, 2,251 and 1,382 fixed lines. On the other hand, Movistar totaled a negative balance of 18,378 fixed lines, after a balance of 11 months with more lines lost.
