The Government clarifies that BanEcuador does not request personal data by telephone to grant the “opportunity credit” and that the process is free

If the user is prequalified, the procedure is in person at the Bank’s offices.

In a statement published that Monday, January 10, the General Secretariat of Communication of the Presidency (Segcom) made it clear to the public that Ban Ecuador does not request personal data by telephone to grant the “credit of opportunities” and that the process is free.

The “opportunity credit” was launched by the Government on January 3 and is aimed at the agricultural sector with the following characteristics: 1% interest, up to a 30-year term, with a base of $ 500 and a ceiling of $ 5,000.

Segcom pointed out that citizens must be informed about access to credit through official BanEcuador accounts on social networks, on its website or at meeting points according to the last digit of the ID, as of February 2; and in the Samanes Park – Guayaquil, BanEcuador Atarazana – Guayaquil and the Financial Government Platform, in Quito.

“In the event that a user has been prequalified for the credit, BanEcuador will contact you by phone to inform about the required documents and schedule an appointment to go to the nearest agency and carry out the corresponding process. The procedure will only be carried out when attending the Bank in person. Personal data is never requested by telephone, nor is information on credit prequalification through text messages, ”the statement said.
