Arequipa: mining company Bateas will deliver 2.2 million soles a year to the Caylloma district

Arequipa. The Bateas mining company and representatives of the Caylloma district reached a consensus to the signing of the Framework Agreement for the development of the district. Among the main commitments assumed by Bateas, is the voluntary financial contribution of 2.2 million soles per year for 4 years for the creation of the Caylloma Social Fund.

The mining company highlighted the importance of the participation of the Central Government in the dialogue process, since the Table had the support of a Ministerial Resolution.

“As Bateas we constantly participate in the conversations for the signing of a Framework Agreement, where the state authorities and the private sector assume commitments for the development of the district. For this, it was essential guarantee an environment of social peace during the negotiations, so the mediation of the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the PCM was very important ”, mentioned Amalia Ruiz Seminario, manager of Sustainability and Institutional Relations.

The company representative pointed out that in addition to the 2.2 million annually that Bateas will contribute for the Caylloma Social Fund, The company will continue to carry out social responsibility projects, such as education, health campaigns, consulting and technical assistance for the alpaca sector, among others.
