Different social and union groups have called a concentration to denounce the first occupational death registered in the Basque Country in 2022.
The social group Berri Otxoak from Barakaldo (Bizkaia) has reported it the first occupational death of an employee at his job, occurred this past Monday, January 3, in a local business.
As reported by this platform, which fights against social exclusion, the death took place in the workplace of an electricity store due to non-traumatic causes and the victim was 59 years old.
Different social and union groups in the town they have called a rally under the slogan “Job insecurity kills. Lan Istripurik Ez!”, to denounce what would be the first occupational death registered in Euskadi in 2022.
The mobilization also seeks to denounce that “subcontracting, precariousness, the lack of prevention measures or the null investment in security measures, go hand in hand when there is a death in the workplace.”
The concentration “will also serve to show our support and solidarity with his family, friends and relatives of the deceased worker.”
