SBS criminally denounces former directors of Credicoop Arequipa

The Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) has filed a criminal complaint Against former directors of the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Credicoop Arequipa for irregularities in the administration and management of the entity.

The complaint settled on December 30 was filed against Rosadri Alcántara Zapana Jacobo, José Martín Castillo Villalta, Hipólito Batallanos Anccassi and 16 other people, who are charged with the alleged commission of the crimes of fraudulent administration, illicit appropriation and concealment, omission or falsehood in the information, to the detriment of the cooperative itself, its partners and the State.

It is based on findings found by the SBS in the cooperative’s supervision process since 2019, as well as in information collected during the intervention process.

“The SBS will provide the Public Ministry with all the additional information that is required, to achieve clarification of the denounced facts, hoping that exemplarily sanction those who are responsible for the aforementioned crimes to the detriment of the savers of Credicoop Arequipa”Says the statement.

As it is recalled, the SBS intervened on November 30, 2021 to Credicoop Arequipa for being in the cause of total loss of the capital stock and the cooperative reserve, caused by operations carried out before the state of national emergency. As of June 2021, the loss amounted to more than S / 262 million.
