The measure is expected to benefit more than 30,000 people in the Basque Autonomous Community.
Since January, the Department of Territorial Planning, Housing and Transport has increased the aid for rent payments from 250 to 275 euros per month, a measure that will benefit more than 30,000 people in the Basque Country.
This rise affects the Economic Housing Benefits (PEV), to the aid of the program Castilian to favor the youth emancipation and to the Supplementary Housing Benefits (PCV) linked to the Income Guarantee Income managed by Lanbide.
In total, more than 30,000 citizens will benefit from this increase, since at present more than 1,000 families receive the ENP, around 2,200 young people under 36 years of age have help to pay rent and 27,000 households receive the PCV, as reported by the Department led by Iñaki Arriola.
In the case of the Gaztelagun youth program, this increase of 25 euros is complemented by “other improvements” such as the suppression of the temporary nature of the aid, which will be maintained until the age of 36 as long as the rest of the requirements continue to be met.
Another improvement is the increase approved last October in the maximum rental income, with which young people who are paying rents of up to 775 euros in Bilbao, Donostia-San Sebastián and Vitoria-Gasteiz can now access; 750 in the metropolitan areas of Bilbao and San Sebastián and in municipalities with more than 10,000 inhabitants, and 675 euros in the rest of the towns.
Previously, the rent ceiling with which these grants could be accessed were 750, 650 and 600 euros, respectively.
