CNT: New technological tools to improve customer service

In the last four months of 2021, the National Telecommunications Corporation CNT EP improved its internal processes in public procurement, as well as in customer service, telecommunications coverage and technological equipment. They also implemented the dashboard of indicators, a business intelligence tool -developed in-house- that allows to have real-time information on the commercial, technical and financial operations of the company, which is currently under the general management of Ralph Suástegui.

Milestones in 2021

PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 1 TO DECEMBER 9

  • Mobile coverage was reached in 7 rural parishes of the country that did not have cellular communications.
  • 14.4% of the budget for investment projects in the technical area was increased.
  • Customer service times in social networks were improved, from 24 hours to real time.
  • Sales by business lines were prioritized, focused on results and performance, with the aim of having transparent management in all areas of the Corporation.
  • Intermediaries from CNT EP partner companies were eliminated to optimize profitability and service quality.
  • The portfolio of massive and corporate products and services was strengthened and renewed, ensuring the sale and profitability of each line.

  • Some 50,000 GPON fiber optic ports were delivered, distributed in 53 cantons of 20 Ecuadorian provinces, benefiting more than 200,000 inhabitants.
  • Mobile network coverage was improved with the increase of about 65 base radios with 4G technology, implemented nationwide, benefiting more than 2.8 million Ecuadorians.
  • The security of the computer network was reinforced with technological equipment that provides protection against malicious attacks, minimizing the risk of data loss and leakage.
  • The GPON (fiber optic) segment of the internet service remains in Netflix’s national ranking of Internet Service Providers.
  • Contracts with content providers were renegotiated to make the DTH line (satellite television) profitable.
  • More than 570 thousand Ecuadorians have benefited from the continental and insular satellite TV coverage of CNT EP.

“By the end of 2021 it was expected that the CNT EP was going to lose 20 million dollars; However, thanks to the current administration that efficiently manages and plans resources, the CNT EP achieved a net surplus of more than 60 million dollars. These results are the evidence that we are transforming the company of all Ecuadorians at a safe pace ”.
