Antamina will bring a claim for payment of S / 800 million before Sunat and Tax Court

Antamina, whose payment of S / 800 million to the Peruvian State was confirmed a few days ago by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), will file the corresponding legal actions before the Sunat, Fiscal Court and the Judicial Power to recover their money.

The fourth large mining company that has paid its accumulated tax debt to Peru this year decided to make the payment (with a 60% discount on penalties and interest) to avoid further accruing interest in the administrative process that continues for, supposedly, being involved in an “accelerated depreciation” before Sunat in the years 2013, 2014 and 2015.

“There is a reduction in the fiscal deficit facilitated by better tax supervision. And I have to announce that there is an important mining company that has made a payment of about S / 800 million to the treasury in the previous days, ”Minister Pedro Francke highlighted a few days ago.

As it is recalled, this year four other large mining companies also paid. This is the case of Buenaventura, which paid a sum of more than S / 2,134 million.

A short time later, the payment by the Cerro Verde mining company became known, which disbursed to the Peruvian State a total of S / 513 million, completing its outstanding debt of S / 1,040 million.

Finally, MMG Limited, Las Bambas parent company, paid US $ 170 million 660,389, equivalent to S / 690 million, for debts that had dragged on since 2011 and 2012, when the operation was in the hands of the Swiss company Glencore. The case is also prosecuted.
