Pension 65: more than 13,000 new users get paid for the first time in Amazonian populated centers

The Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) He detailed, this Wednesday, that 13,173 elderly people living in extreme poverty from Amazonian populated centers in 11 regions are receiving the monetary support of Pension 65 for the first time.

In detail, users from regions such as Loreto (4,984), Amazonas (717), Ayacucho (61), Cajamarca (18), Cusco (137), Huánuco (187), Junín (1,836), Madre de Dios (321) were included. ), Pasco (592), San Martín (1,560) and Ucayali (2,760)

Likewise, the executive director of Pensión 65, Mabel Gálvez, assured that To date, there are no older adults from Amazonian populated centers who have applied for admission, meet the requirements and are waiting to be affiliated.

It is worth mentioning that apart from belonging to an Amazonian populated center, there are new prioritization criteria to enter Pension 65: being affected by disasters or health or weather emergencies, suffering from tuberculosis, presenting a disability, being over 100 years old, residing in Vraem or border districts and present a greater need for social care.

Dina Boluarte, head of Midis, pointed out that this new prioritization criterion closes the coverage gap that Pensión 65 had in the populated centers of the Amazon.
