In this context, the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property Protection (INDECOPI) reiterated to private schools that it is not allowed to demand the complete list of school supplies on the first day of class.
In addition, private educational institutions cannot request materials outside the learning of students, such as cleaning or cleaning articles, whose provision is the responsibility of the school itself. Similarly, schools are prohibited from imposing the purchase of uniforms, useful or materials in specific establishments or brands.

If consumer rights are affected, parents can request the Complaints bookthrough which the educational institution must address its complaint within a maximum period of 15 business days.

The delivery of school supplies must be carried out progressively and be contemplated in the internal regulations of the school. This process cannot be less than 30 calendar days after the start of classes.

In the context of the school campaign, private schools may only require the purchase of new texts if they are notebooks of tasks, works or activities, their requirement for other materials of only one use is prohibited.
