Factoring enters its massification stage with the Sunat platform

The factoring, a key instrument for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to obtain timely financing and leverage their businesses, entered its massification stage, when the first negotiable electronic invoices were generated, confirmed through the platform implemented by the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat).

The activation of this platform is key to the massification of the factoring because it allows to process and confirm the validity of a huge volume of electronic invoices and electronic fee receipts, which can now be converted into negotiable instruments.

Thus the platform of the Sunat is able to process the 324 million electronic invoices that are issued in a year, many of which are credit invoices, which can become negotiated, after having been duly confirmed and validated.

“In this way, the path towards the massification of the factoring, so that more and more MSMEs can obtain immediate financing and take advantage of the business opportunities offered by the market, without having to wait months for payment of a credit invoice; which will contribute to its reactivation and that of the country ”, explained the National Superintendent, Luis Enrique Vera Castillo.

The first negotiable invoices, previously validated by the Sunat platform, were generated as of December 25 and that volume is expected to increase exponentially, as MSMEs learn more about the advantages of obtaining immediate financing for their businesses.

It should be noted that there are currently about 478,000 issuers of electronic invoices and about 2 million issuers of receipts for electronic fees that, in case they issue their credit vouchers, have at their disposal the alternative of using the factoring to negotiate your invoices or receipts, duly validated.

To facilitate negotiated invoices, it was arranged that the issuers of electronic invoices and receipts for electronic fees consign in these vouchers two new data, one, the form of payment, cash or credit; and two, the amount pending payment, the amounts and due dates of the agreed installments.

The implementation of factoring It is possible due to the massification of electronic payment vouchers promoted by Sunat. Currently, more than 94% of the transactions carried out in the national economy are carried out with electronic payment vouchers.
