Peruvian Government announces Free Free Lot Empatization campaign: In which regions and what is the schedule?

The Cofopri campaign will be held in February 2025 and is aimed at informal possessions, such as populated centers, human settlements, hamlets and housing associations.

The informal property formalization agency (Cofopri) announced several free campaigns of census in Peru in February 2025. Through the process of formal degreefamilies are given the legal certainty they need to ensure the possession of their homes.

In addition, the formalization of housing not only contributes to reducing conflicts related to possession, but also facilitates access to bank financing and encourages a more efficient urban planning.

What are the regions and dates of the free registration campaign?

The informal property formalization agency launched a series of free registration campaigns at the national level by February 2025, aimed at informal possessionssuch as populated centers, human settlements, hamlets and housing associations. The objective is to facilitate the process of formalization in those areas where physical-legal sanitation has already been completed.

What are the requirements to obtain the property title?

Cofopri indicated that the degree process has changed, since it eliminated the need to present the proof of possession, a requirement that was required on previous occasions. However, an essential requirement is maintained: applicants must show that they have occupied their lot directly, peaceful, continuous and public for at least one year before the date of registration.

  • National Identity Document (DNI).
  • Basic services receipts such as light, water, cable or telephone.
  • Documents that prove ownership, such as: Autovalúo, proof of possession, testament, sale contract.
